Sheffield
Chair of Sheffield Property Association Board of Directors
About the Sheffield Property Association
Founded in 2017 the S-PA organisation has circa 90 members and is the voice of property for Sheffield and the wider region. We are a community of experts within the built environment.
Our members span many disciplines, yet all share our vision to grow our city and surrounding area. By working together with clear strategic goals, we can better serve our region and those who live, work and play here.
The S-PA focuses it efforts in 3 key areas:
People: Place: Policy:
People are at the heart of the S-PA. Our focus is the built environment, and how this supports people and communities.
We collectively share an incredible understanding of our city and the surrounding area. This positions us an expert voice on relevant local matters.
As a community that brings together knowledge from across our sector, our expertise is invaluable in shaping local policy.
Our Structure
The work of S-PA is overseen by a Board of 5 (volunteer) Directors who are representative of the property industry in Sheffield. Directors are currently appointed for a period 3 years, with an option to stay on for a further 3 years, under the approval of the remaining Directors.
Being a voluntary organisation the day-to-day management is undertaken by the Board of Directors, Co-ordination group and individual members of the wider organisation. The work streams are split into the following priority groups:
Aspire: Aspire is our internal network of early careers professionals from our member organisations.
Working for You: This group is tasked with building relationships and networks within our membership.
Inspiring the Future: This group works to engage and inspire the next generation of professionals to shape the future of the city and the sector.
Shaping the City: Our planning group works with key individuals, the public sector and groups within the city and the Local Authority.
Promoting Sheffield: At the core of the S-PA we are working on a number of key initiatives with the aim of Promoting our City.
Protecting our Future: Our sustainability group is advocating for a better, greener Sheffield across the S-PA groups and promotes regulation and industry change to shape a more sustainable future for Sheffield.
EDI:This newly formed group is involved with events and communication initiatives highlighting EDI impacts from the city's major regeneration projects and sharing of EDI best practices.
The groups are overseen by the Co-Ordination Group, made up of the group leaders who work with the groups, members and Directors towards our shared goals.
The S-PA Board Chair
Since the incorporation of the S-PA a chair has been in place. Our organisation needs a Chair.
Following the imminent retirement of our current Chair, we are seeking to appoint an independent Chair to provide oversight, scrutiny, challenge and leadership to help ensure the S-PA’s continued success.
