Celebrating Attercliffe Waterside

It was great to be joined by everyone at Domo last Wednesday, including members from Citu and the Sheffield City Council, as we celebrated the Attercliffe Waterside Development.

This project aims to create a vibrant, sustainable community that will significantly benefit Attercliffe and Darnall. The development includes:

• 975 new homes

• 8 acres of open public realm

• 550 new trees

• A new footbridge over the canal

At the heart of this development is a commitment to sustainability and innovation. The homes will be equipped with industry-leading technology, including solar panels and heat sink pumps, offering residents zero-cost energy bills through partnerships with energy companies, saving more than 200,000 tonnes of carbon. This focus on eco-friendly solutions extends to the sourcing of materials, where the project will introduce 70% less operational carbon and save c.18,000 tonnes of embodied carbon against traditional build.

The project's emphasis on brownfield site development also showcases a responsible approach to urban expansion, preserving green spaces while revitalising previously developed areas. The site's layout has been carefully considered to prioritise community needs, accessibility, and infrastructure, as well as taking 880 cars off the road.

As Sheffield continues to evolve, initiatives like this pave the way for a more sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous future for all its residents.
